On Monday Teignbridge opened up the Household Support fund for applications from residents in financial hardship.

In three days, they have received 100 requests, reflecting the difficulties that some of our residents are facing.

Teignbridge are processing these claims as swiftly as possible and will be gradually increasing the promotion of the online application form in ways that enable them to respond promptly to requests for help.

Under the Government scheme, which was announced in the Spring, anyone who is a permanent Teignbridge resident, aged over 16 and does not have sufficient resources to meet their own, or their dependents’ immediate short-term needs can apply for helphttps://www.teignbridge.gov.uk/householdsupportfund
